Kumho launched the Ecsta LX Platinum as a high-performance tire, but it is more of a summer tire. And needless to say, the tires perform their job well.
A few weeks ago, I had the chance to test out a set of Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum tires. Here’s my review!
Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum: Overview
The Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum is a high-performance tire designed for drivers of luxury vehicles. The tire offers excellent traction and handling in dry and wet conditions, and its tread life is above average.
Kumho’s Ecsta LX Platinum touring all-season performance is ideal for drivers of coupes, sedans, minivans, crossovers, and compact sport utility vehicles. The LX has improved traction and handling, luxury riding comfort, and longer tread life.
However, the Ecsta LX Platinum is not the best tire in Kumho’s lineup for snow traction, so if you live in an area that gets a lot of winter weather, you’ll want to consider a different model.

Features of the Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum
The Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum is a high-performance tire that offers excellent all-season traction, even in light snow. It has a tread life of 60,000 miles and a warranty of 5 years or 60,000 miles.
The Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum has a W speed rating and can handle speeds up to 168 mph.

How does it perform in the dry?

Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to try out the tire in the snow. However, the specs clearly categorize The Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum as a max-performance summer tire. So it would be too much to expect top-class snow performance from it.
However, the owner of the tires mentioned that she faced only minor issues driving these tires in light snow. But the Ecsta LX Platinum is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow, or on ice.
How is the wet performance?
Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum is a summer tire developed to provide drivers with high traction, handling, and comfort. The Ecsta LX Platinum is Kumho’s Ultra High-Performance All-Season tire designed for the drivers of coupes, sedans, sports cars, and crossovers.
